Move from TeamGantt without redrawing a thing.
NeoGantt imports TeamGantt’s CSV export, so each TeamGantt project becomes a chart with its groups, tasks, milestones, dates, colours and progress in place. It suits teams who used TeamGantt mainly to draw timelines and show them to clients; dependencies, assignees, hours and notes stay behind.
From TeamGantt project to NeoGantt chart in five steps.
- Export the project from TeamGantt as CSV. Open the project and use TeamGantt’s export menu to download a CSV file. It’s one file per project, so repeat for each one you want to bring over. If the option has moved, TeamGantt’s help centre covers exporting.
- Create a NeoGantt account. Sign up free with Google or email.
- Open Settings, then Import. Choose one or more CSV files. They’re read in your browser first, and nothing is uploaded yet.
- Check the preview. Each file shows its project name and how many groups, tasks and milestones it contains. Rows NeoGantt can’t use (a task with no start date, say) are listed as warnings so you know what’s missing.
- Import, then open the chart. Each file becomes a chart in your organisation, named after the TeamGantt project, with an Open link next to it.
What comes across, and what stays in TeamGantt.
| In the TeamGantt CSV | In NeoGantt |
|---|---|
| Project name | The chart’s name |
| Groups | Groups. Nested groups are flattened to one level and named “Parent / Child”, with their tasks inside. |
| Tasks and milestones | Tasks and milestones, on the same start and end dates |
| Task colour | The closest colour in NeoGantt’s palette. Colours it doesn’t recognise fall back to the default. |
| Progress (%) | Progress, with progress tracking switched on for that chart |
| Predecessors and successors | Not imported. NeoGantt has no dependencies. |
| Assigned people | Not imported. There are no assignees or workloads. |
| Estimated and actual hours | Not imported. There’s no time tracking. |
| Notes, comments, baselines, points | Not imported. Comments start fresh in NeoGantt. |
Four differences you'll notice in the first hour.

Who should switch, and who should stay
Stay on TeamGantt if your team runs on dependencies, workload views or time tracking. NeoGantt has none of them and isn’t going to pretend otherwise.
Switch if what you mostly do in TeamGantt is draw a timeline and show it to a client. TeamGantt’s Base plan is $59 a month for one manager, ten collaborators and five projects, and its view-only link for people outside your account needs a paid plan. NeoGantt’s Small plan is $15 a month for up to five people with unlimited charts, and share links work on every plan, Free included. The side-by-side comparison has the full feature and pricing detail.
If you’re undecided, import one finished project and one live one, then send the live one’s share link to a friendly client. An afternoon tells you whether the missing pieces are ones you’d miss.
Import questions
Can I import several TeamGantt projects at once?
Yes. Choose as many CSV files as you like in one go. Each file becomes its own chart, and you see the group, task and milestone counts for every file before anything is saved.
Can I import from Excel, Microsoft Project or Asana?
No. TeamGantt's CSV export is the only format NeoGantt imports. Anything else is rebuilt by hand, which is quicker than it sounds: you draw tasks straight onto the timeline.
Is import available on the Free plan?
Yes, but Free holds up to five charts. Import your live projects first; a bigger back catalogue needs a team plan, which has no chart limit.
Can I export back to CSV later?
No. NeoGantt exports PDF only. If you might need a plan as spreadsheet data again, keep the TeamGantt CSV files you exported.
